In 1921 Phoebe Fairgrave became the first woman to do a double parachute jump. She cut away her first chute and opened a second. In the thirties she oragnized a group of women fliers who mad an impact on the country which urged communities to paint the name of their town in large white letters on a rooftop to aid pilots in navigations.

Takes a lot of gut to cut you shute line like that. I wonder if any buildings still have the town name on the roof?
